One of two films Chilean director Sebastian Silva premiered at Sundance Film Festival this year, Crystal Fairy follows Jamie (Michael Cera) on a journey to find and drink the hallucinogenic juices of the San Pedro cactus. The adventure leads him to Crystal Fairy (Gaby Hoffman), a free-spirited hippie type that uptight Jamie quickly regrets inviting along. Based on an experience Silva had over a decade ago, the film was shot in only two weeks and all dialogue was improvised by the actors. Watch it under the stars tonight at Rooftop Films, where Cera, Hoffman, and Silva will be on hand for a Q&A. Later, head over to the after-party at Fontana’s (where no, there will not be any hallucinogenic cacti juice—that we know of.)
