Combining his years of hard-won and ongoing academic pursuits, Ghosh seeks to use his knowledge to connect his areas of interest, forging new paths and spreading education.

Sarthak Ghosh had an ambition: to apply his learned principles from Business Administration and Quantitative Economics to solve problems and lead projects in Data, Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence.

These skills and ambitions may appear to be in staunchly different industries, but Ghosh has used his commitment to working as an entrepreneur and an academic researcher to bridge the gap, positioning himself at the intersection of practical development and technological innovation, as well as the growth of scholarly inquiry.

In many ways, his path reflects a broader idea that genuine expertise across each vertical of STEM remains relatively niche. Ghosh’s academic and professional journey represents a rare combination that spans science, technology, engineering, and management, bringing together disciplines that are often developed in isolation.

Leading Global Data and AI Work

Ghosh has received anecdotal recognition in his academic progression and professional career for his analytical, inquisitive, and thoughtful mind. During his undergraduate and graduate studies in the United States, faculty highlighted his talent for asking insightful and challenging questions, a source of pride for Ghosh.

He recalls that in professional settings, his colleagues and managers noted him as someone who is not afraid to ask probing questions to understand difficult issues. Currently, Ghosh works as an Enterprise AI Architect Manager, leading a global team while concurrently pursuing a Doctoral program in Business Administration.

From a technology perspective, he brings approximately 18 years of professional experience working as an AI and data analytics architect and lead engineer across established technology companies, contributing to large-scale data and AI initiatives.

Return to Academia After a 14-Year Gap

In 2022, Ghosh chose to return to school after 14 years, pursuing an MBA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to build his academic knowledge in strategic management, micro- and macroeconomics, and corporate finance.

He wanted to expand on his undergraduate studies in Production Engineering from Jadavpur University, a leading academic institution in India. During his undergraduate studies, he built a strong foundation in quantitative and analytical skills, but his MBA furthered that to support his career development.

His engineering background, rooted in a Bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering, continues to inform his structured, systems-oriented approach to solving complex business and technology challenges.

MBA, Economics, and Doctorate Combination

Ghosh is committed to a personal standard of excellence, evident in his academic career. He earned a 3.96 GPA in his first MBA program, with a perfect 4.0 in Economics. His personal standard is a mark of a strong academic interest and pursuit, which bolsters his growth in academic inquiry.

In recognition of his academic pursuits, he was invited to join Hackathon Raptor as a fellow member, one of the world’s most prestigious AI innovation communities. He was also invited to join Beta Gamma Sigma, a business honor society for AACSB-accredited schools, which he accepted.

After his MBA, Ghosh chose to pursue a third degree at his professors’ encouragement, following his recent academic success. He is currently pursuing an MS in Economics from Purdue University and is set to complete his degree in August of 2026.

In addition, he is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration and Management with Westcliff University, for which Ghosh maintains a 4.0 GPA. He is set to complete the degree by the end of 2027.

Across the science and management dimensions of his work, his academic path includes a Master of Science in Economics alongside MBA and DBA studies with a focus on AI and data analytics, reflecting a continued effort to integrate quantitative theory with applied business leadership.

Since he began the latest chapter of his academic journey in 2022, he has obtained new knowledge and experience in economics, mastering challenging concepts and completing assignments independently.

He has been driven to pursue education, starting with acting as team leader for group presentations, and has developed into tutoring master’s courses, both during his time at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and at Purdue.

Thought Leadership in Data, Analytics, and AI

Beyond his academic performance, Ghosh is also known for his ability to communicate original ideas clearly and effectively, connecting problem statements to comprehensive algorithms, practical solutions, implementation strategies, and data-driven outcomes before large audiences in both virtual and on-site settings. His current work involves managing globally diverse teams across different cultural backgrounds and time zones, while also developing AI applications with real-time analytics for workplace safety using extensive datasets, drawing on leadership skills and theoretical knowledge gained through his MBA and DBA programs to address cultural diversity effectively.

His recent innovation is FindingFood, an AI-driven, real-time food marketplace designed to address gaps in food availability and demand by connecting consumers and food providers through a dynamic, two-sided platform that supports both standard ordering and customized food requests. The concept reflects Ghosh’s original contribution to the food technology space and, according to him, is currently in the process of review with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Unlike conventional delivery apps, the platform introduces a reverse-bidding model in which users can request specific meals by detailing ingredients, preparation methods, and dietary preferences, while restaurants, homemakers, and independent food creators respond with pricing and delivery options, allowing for greater flexibility and personalization.

The platform also integrates predictive analytics to share near-term (up to 120 hours) demand and supply visibility, helping providers make more informed production decisions and reduce inefficiencies such as overproduction or stock shortages, particularly during irregular hours or high-demand events. By allowing users to alternate between buyer and seller roles, and by enabling niche features such as discounted resale of unsold food and marketplace-style negotiation, FindingFood expands participation and monetization opportunities. Its freemium model, low transaction fee structure, and machine learning-based demand forecasting aim to support revenue optimization for providers while improving access and convenience for consumers. At the same time, the model aligns with broader UN sustainability objectives by contributing to reduced food waste, lower energy use, and more efficient resource allocation, while also supporting more consistent food access across different times and user needs.

Bridging Entrepreneurship, Research, and Public-Impact Problem Solving

With the knowledge he has acquired from his undergraduate degree and Doctoral program, Ghosh has been working to expand his knowledge and be a better leader and researcher in business and technology.

He aspires to become the founder of a Data and AI company, leveraging both his business degrees and his experience working in AI and data. Not only that, but he also chooses to pursue economic research and education, dedicating his time to analyzing public policy and addressing environmental challenges.

Overall, he wants to use his skills to promote a sustainable future for generations to come, and he is starting by expanding his skillset to better serve and develop the world around him.
