Ten years ago, when the Brooklyn-based art and music magazine Impose launched, it didn’t have to look much further than its own backyard to find the best shows in the country. In honor of this anniversary and the publication’s segue into the digital world, which includes having its own record label, they threw a huge party at Shea Stadium not long ago with performances by Smoke DZA, Meyhem Lauren, and Children of the Night. But if you happened to have missed it, tonight’s Impose 10-Year Anniversary Photo Party should more than make up for it. The psych-darkwave trio Alan Watts will play while you check out a decade’s worth of amazing images from the magazine (many taken at shows in Williamsburg and Bushwick) by 10 photographers, including Nate Dorr, Sam Horine, and Maryanne Ventrice. Plus, free cocktails with Icelandic Reyka vodka doesn’t hurt, either.
