THIN ICE

by

Some say the Rangers and the Penguins make the best rivalry in sports, and that may be correct—there’s always more than just bragging rights at stake when these two Atlantic Division rivals meet! Last year, New York won five of their eight contests, but the Penguins knocked them out of the semifinals in five games. The Rangers have won their two meetings this year, so the Penguins will really be looking for revenge. To see Team Captain Chris Drury and the New York Rangers lay down a few slap shots, StubHub has seats starting around $50; if you want to be close to the ice, Ticketmaster still has Level 100 seats for $250. For a sports bar atmosphere, try Kelly’s Sports Bar (12 Avenue A, 212-388-1464) in the East Village, which has six 42-inch digital wide-screens and free wireless connection if you want to watch the game on your laptop. There’s no kitchen, but you can bring your own food or order in.
