Umi Bushwick Is Going Back to Its Pop-Up Roots

by

The founders of the late-night takeout counter Umi Bushwick, Phoebe Tran and Renel Sun, announced via an email that they are returning to the traveling roots that inspired their menu of street-style Asian buns and are now searching for new places to pop-up. The former NYU students had been operating out of the former Sweet & Shiny Bakery off the Jefferson L stop. Here’s their message:

Hi there,

We just wanted to send an email to update you on the current status of Umi Bushwick’s pop-up. We just got confirmation that we will no longer be able to sell out of Sweet & Shiny’s window front indefinitely due to recent change in ownership. As of now, we have our minds set on finding new places to pop-up every weekend.

This coming Saturday, we will be selling food and drinks out of Molly’s Milk Truck at City Fox Experience‘s Brooklyn Mirage event in Williamsburg. The new venue has just opened on July 4th and has already gained quite a following through social media and press. We hope to see you there!

All the best,

Phoebe + Renel
