Alec Baldwin: “New York City is a Mismanaged Carnival of Stupidity”

Alec Baldwin was arrested on Tuesday morning for biking the wrong way down Fifth Avenue. Now, normally, you wouldn’t be arrested for biking the wrong way down any street — you’d just be issued a ticket — but it’s Alec Baldwin so, of course, things went awry. And, of course, an In Touch photographer was there to capture the moment for posterity.

NYPD officer Arlene Munoz tells the Voice, “He was being disorderly. Talking back to the officers, cursing, stuff like that.” He was taken into custody, and transported to the 13th precinct where he had to prove his identity before he was released. (Apparently Baldwin didn’t have ID when the officers stopped him.) Munoz confirmed Baldwin was given two summons: one ticket for biking the wrong way, and a second for disorderly conduct.

He’s out now, and he’s… displeased. Baldwin fired off a trio of tweets:

Maybe this will be the final straw. Maybe Baldwin will finally make good on the promise–immortalized in a lengthy interview with New York–to permanently decamp to L.A., where he can hole up in nice mansion and finally be. left. alone.:

I probably have to move out of New York. I just can’t live in New York anymore. Everything I hated about L.A. I’m beginning to crave. L.A. is a place where you live behind a gate, you get in a car, your interaction with the public is minimal.

Hey, if that means his wife, Hilaria, won’t be putting her bare toes all over our ATM keypads anymore, then we strongly endorse this decision.
