Nancy Garcia is a choreographer and electronic musician with a disarming amount of songwriter’s haunt at the center of her conceptual explorations. The Notekillers, founded by ex-Cecil Taylor guitarist David First and disbanded by 1981, reformed several years ago, staking their claim on post-punk-wave instrumentals. And for straight-up improv from the post-Tonic diaspora: legendary free saxophonist Daniel Carter, Tall Firs drummer Ryan Sawyer, and drone-y freelance violinist C. Spencer Yeh.
