The classiest classically-trained gal in town supplements her lively weekly Oak Room at the Algonquin brunch with this appearance. These days, the jazz great is playing plenty of George Gershwin in anticipation of her new standards CD, but don’t think her ruminations on Irving Berlin and Stephen Sondheim will be put on the back burner. There’s also every reason to believe she will be assisted on bass by jolly Jay Leonhart.
