These blog-buzzy Brooklynites debuted in 2003 with the aptly titled Tunes Nextdoor to Songs EP, but these days, Bear in Heaven are full-time residents of Ditty Town: Last year’s Beast Rest Forth Mouth is a hook-packed psych-pop delight, with all kinds of noodly electronic textures decorating frontman Jon Philpot’s dreamy melodies; in especially catchy highlights such as “Lovesick Teenagers” and “You Do You,” they sound like Grizzly Bear covering the Notwist. (Remember the Notwist?) This free show comes near the beginning of the band’s extensive summer tour and a few months before the September 14 release of a Beast Rest remix disc featuring the Field and High Places, among others.
