BLACK SHEEP

by

According to his Twitter bio, if we don’t buy his new book, You’re Not Doing It Right: Tales of Marriage, Sex, Death, and Other Humiliations, comedian Michael Ian Black thinks we “are seriously being dicks.” From the cult classic Wet Hot American Summer to Comedy Central’s short-lived Stella, Black has maintained an extensive career that has included dissing David Sedaris and reportedly traveling the political landscape of America with Meghan McCain. Entering the literary world in 2008 with his first collection of essays (My Custom Van . . . And 50 Other Mind-Blowing Essays That Will Blow Your Mind All Over Your Face) and a children’s book the following year, the sarcastic comedian has proven to audiences that he can write pretty damn well and make them laugh at the same time. Black’s latest essay collection, which he’ll be discussing tonight with McCain at WORD in Brooklyn, concerns his life as a husband, father, and “yuppie a-hole” living in a Connecticut suburb. Can’t make it tonight? He’ll also be at the Strand on March 1.
