Pennsylvania duo Blues Control—that’s Lea Cho performing alchemy on keyboards and Russ Waterhouse shiatsu-massaging guitars and electronics—never met a paradigm they weren’t inclined to upend. All-instrumental is their métier, but the pair spindle and mutilate that notion in myriad directions, creating dark, buzzing psych with florid, delicious interplay that’s nothing short of telepathic. Theirs is a cult that deserves to expand.
