BOWLED OVER

by

OK, so the Jets didn’t make it, but they look great for next year, and whether you’re rooting for the New Orleans Saints or the Indianapolis Colts, you can expect some good football and great parties at area bars. We recommend two: As the Saints go to their first-ever Super Bowl in their 43-year history, Bar None in the East Village has officially been named “Who Dat Nation—New York” by the New Orleans Times-Picayune (“Who dat?” is the Saints fans’ official chant, by the way). For the AFC Championship game, more than 300 people packed into the bar to see the game and enjoy authentic New Orleans sounds piped in by the management. The food is order-in with a number of great restaurants in the area ready to deliver. A legendary Manhattan favorite of sports fans for more than 30 years, Mudville 9 has fabulous wings with three projection screens and 10 flat-screens. Again, expect a crowd and make reservations no later than the Wednesday before the big day. Bon ton roulet!
