COMING FULL CIRCLE

For 36 years, the late German choreographer Pina Bausch created groundbreaking work as a pioneer of tanztheater (dance theater). Now BAM presents the U.S. premiere of her final work, . . . como el musguito en la piedra, ay sí, sí, sí . . . (Like Moss on a Stone). Inspired by the experiences Bausch and her dancers of Tanztheater Wuppertal shared at a residency in Santiago, Chile, the work was first performed only a few days before her death on June 30, 2009. Many of the original dancers from 2009 will appear in this eight-performance run, set to the sounds of Chilean folk legend Violeta Parra and guitarist Victor Jara.
