Dam-Funk

With all the swagger that accompanies dropping a 5-vinyl box set as a debut (damn, dog, even Joanna Newsom waited until her third album to take up that much shelf space), one would also expect Leimert Park’s funk doctor spock Dam-Funk to kick it up a notch live as well. And so he has, moving from his one man, boogie-history lesson DJ sets onto fronting a three-piece band. Expect plenty of keytar, slap bass, and, Lord willing, a talk box to fully squeeze in more bounce to the oz. With DJ Spinna.
