In 2021 Victoria Triece, a Florida mom, was told she could no longer volunteer at her kids’ school, Sand Lake Elementary School, in the Orlando area. She’d been volunteering for the school’s ADDitions Program until the principal, Katie Phillips, reached out to let her know she was no longer welcome.
Why? Because a parent had found her sexually explicit photos on the subscription site OnlyFans and was outraged. The email read: “It has come to several parents at Sand Lake Elementary that one of the room mothers that spends time at the school is publically posting pornography thru various sources on the internet. This woman is constantly around our children and her public profiles are well known. This is not the content or subject matter that our children need to be exposed to. Please consider this an attempt to rectify the situation before other measures are taken.”
It seems that prohibiting Triece from volunteering was the principal’s attempt to stop the problem in its tracks, but Triece wasn’t going to stand by. At the time her children were five and ten, and the mother was adamant that what she did for work and in her private time should not affect her children or her time volunteering at the school. And when the school didn’t relent, she hired an attorney to seek a $1 million lawsuit, claiming she was wrongfully dismissed and that the images were shared to “demean and belittle her”. Until this situation, the images were behind the OnlyFans paywall, but thanks to public access requests the images were provided to the media and seen worldwide.
Triece told reporters at the time the lawsuit was filed: “It’s nobody’s position to judge what anybody does in their private life. If I’m not hurting anybody and I’m not affecting anybody’s day, then it’s somebody’s choice to do something that’s fully legal.”
And it seems that while it is in fact, legal and her choice to be an OnlyFans content creator, she does not have the right to volunteer. That’s what the judge determined after a two-year legal battle.
According to the Florida judge, the volunteer program’s policy “does not include any language that confers any right or benefit upon an individual to participate in the program, to remain in the program, or to appeal a removal decision.”
The judge also struck down Triece’s claim that her privacy was violated by the school district when they shared the explicit images, as “the images are considered public record and were shared between administrators trying to resolve an issue in the district that had been brought to their attention.”
Triece isn’t the only mom who has been publicly shamed for their account on the subscription site. Crystal Jackson, who resides in California, shared that her children were kicked out of their Catholic school because she was an OnlyFans creator. It’s unclear if she is seeking legal action against the school, but if she makes as much as she claims to ($500,000 a month) she likely won’t be backing down any time soon.
