Gabrielle Rossmer: Dance

In her new show at Ceres Gallery, Gabrielle Rossmer, who has been exploring the use of small-scale figures for the last dozen years, explores the affinities between dance and sculpture. Inspired by Mark Morris’s “L’Allegro, Il Penseroso, ed il Moderato,” a modern dance based on the poetry of John Milton and the music of George Friedrich Handel, Rossmer creates the individual pieces and choreographs their dance to create complex, spontaneous, and surprising works of art.
