HIGHWAY TO HOTEL

by

If travel websites reviewed the hotel room in Sarah Kane’s Blasted, what might they say? Value: zero stars. Service: zero stars. Cleanliness: Are
negative stars given? The posh Leeds suite hosts a bombing, a couple of
rapes, and the consumption of a baby (not delivered by room service). This
1995 piece proved a succes de scandale at its London debut, but critics and audiences have since recognized it as a modern classic, an expose of the best and worst of the human heart. Soho Rep artistic director Sarah Benson hosts the New York premiere. Marin Ireland, Reed Birney, and Louis Cancelmi comprise the brutalized cast.

Tuesdays-Sundays, 7:30 p.m.; Tue., Oct. 7, 7:30 p.m. Starts: Oct. 2. Continues through Dec. 21, 2008
