What’s that, you say? Petulant bleating, drop-D tunings, steamroller bass, and sinister album art are all long out of vogue? On forthcoming album The Path of Totality, Korn allows a corps of dubstep producers to lay figurative waste to their efforts, and singles “Get Up!” and “Cannibalistic Narcissist,” energy drinks, DJ scratches, and synthesizer effects are dealt into the songwriting diet, with largely negligible results. Try as they might, Korn is still Korn, which, it goes without saying, beats the fuck out of being Staind.
