(Norman Mailer, 1971). Norman Mailer’s most extravagant independent production features his nibs as a big shot movie director running for president because all the other candidates have been assassinated. The movie is part psychodrama, part cinema verite, and merrily thrown off course by Rip Torn’s late inning intervention.
