A Broadway bill shared by Woody Allen and Elaine May isn’t enough for Ethan Coen, one prolific half of the filmmaking duo the Coen Brothers. So while his one-act “Talking Cure” appears as part of Relatively Speaking at the Brooks Atkinson, three more of his one-acts will be playing a couple of avenues over in Happy Hour. Together, the comedies about bitter, lonely, and sad barflies, are meant to prove how much worse our own lives could be. Ever the optimist, that Coen. Neil Pepe directs.
Mondays-Sundays, 8 p.m. Starts: Nov. 5. Continues through Dec. 23, 2011
