Good news, “art” lovers: Piss Christ is back in the Big Apple.
The controversial Andres Serrano work is just a photo of a crucifix soaking in the “artist’s” urine. Somehow, it’s considered “art” and will be showcased at the Edward Tyler Nahem gallery starting Thursday.
Piss Christ first stirred up controversy in 1989 when former New York senator Al D’Amato took to the Senate to complain about the “piece of
trash.”
It’s a “deplorable, despicable display of vulgarity,” Senator Pothole said at the time.
If
Jesus soaking in piss doesn’t offend you, this might: Piss Christ
received taxpayer funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
So not only is Jesus soaking in piss, but also you paid for it.
