MUSIC ARCHIVES

‘Roulette Musicircus’

by

The venerable downtown arts organization with an improvisational bent throws a John Cage-ian carnival, offering a sneak peek into their fab new Brooklyn home (which opens in September). First performed in 1967, Cage’s Musicircus has no direction other than “to bring together under one roof as much music as practical under the circumstances.” The audience will wander freely among musicians, performance artists, video artists, acrobats, and dancers doing their respective things simultaneously.
