The New Amsterdam Market made an appearance yesterday, transforming South Street into a bustle of shoppers, bags filled with chocolate and kimchi, gourds and cheese, organic meat and New York State wine. The market is now monthly, and the next one will be held on November 22. The big event of the day was an appearance by Josh Applestone of Fleisher’s Grassfed and Organic Meats and Tom Mylan of the Meat Hook, who got onstage and broke down an entire hog lickety-split.
