SERVE IT UP

The hype builds as the one and only U.S. Open progresses, so we recommend going out early in the proceedings to see great tennis up close—it’ll be your only chance to see five-time U.S. Open winner Roger Federer and five-time winner Serena Williams in the New York area. The tournament opens today and, as always, there’s more than just tennis. Live music, including Irish pipes, classical violin, chamber music, and even a “Cajun cellist” are on throughout the day. You can still buy tickets through Ticketmaster, the U.S. Open website, which includes a nifty “interactive seat viewer,” or StubHub, which has tickets starting at $79.
