New Yorkers have never needed lessons in how to be sexy. Case in point: Yossi Milo Gallery’s latest exhibit Sexy and the City, which features more than 60 years of Manhattanites getting close, getting undressed, and getting it on in this wondrous metropolis. Weegee, Diane Arbus, Anton Perich, and Mitch Epstein are just a few of the photographers included. You’ll see everything from Alfred Eisenstaedt’s iconic 1945 image of a couple kissing in Times Square on V-J Day, to Nan Goldin’s drag queen on an anonymous New York street in the 1990s, to Garry Winogrand’s topless woman surrounded by a crowd in Central Park. New Yorkers sure know how to be romantic—and scandalous, too.
