Start your Halloween celebrations a week early with the Morbid Anatomy Museum’s annual Day of the Dead costume party. The evening starts with a “mini-lecture” by Dr. Andrew Chestnut, author of Devoted to Death: Santa Muerte, The Skeleton Saint. Then it’s time for tequila, music, sugar skulls, a visit by the Mexican Food Truck, complimentary beer by Modelo, exotic tunes by DJ in Residence Friese Undine, and an opportunity to “strike a mortal blow” to the beautiful piñata of Lady Death herself! Our personal favorite feature: a Day of the Dead altar honoring the late film director Luis Buñuel. Come in your best Day of the Dead-themed costume and be prepared to be amazed by the shades of “Calavera Makeup” applied by Jane Rose.
