After a dismal season that has seen the lineup practically wiped out by injuries, ESPN.com recently commented, “This season hasn’t been a disappointment. It’s been a Freddy Krueger movie.” Well, Mets fans, all you can do now is support the orange and blue and pray that, next year, everyone will be healthy. This is the last home stand of the 2009 season, so if you haven’t seen Citi Field, this is your chance. Looks like Carlos Beltrán—the best all-around player in New York and maybe in all of baseball—will be back, plus there’s a cool giveaway: The first 25,000 fans get a model Lincoln Mercury, complete with a Mets logo on the hood. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster or on StubHub. If you bring some cash, you can probably score good seats for less outside the park.
