On their recent Southern Gothic, this well-connected psych-soul outfit from Atlanta benefitted from a deep-pile production job by Ben Allen (who’s also worked with Animal Collective and Gnarls Barkley) and a typically appealing cameo from Cee Lo Green. However, minus the trippy studio foofaraw, the Constellations’ songs may not hold up the way they’d prefer, but their groove probably will.
