UNTAMED BEATS

Where to start with this one? Basically, it goes like this: In 1882, machinist Matthew Maguire proposed a Monday off in honor of those laboring across the country, and in 1894, a modified version of that proposal was adopted as law. In 2009, the people at Made Event drafted their own proposal, and on the weekend of Maguire’s holiday, 25,000 people swarmed Randalls Island for the first three-day Electric Zoo Festival. This year, the festival is back with old favorites, such as Benassi and Guetta, alongside reigning champs Skrillex, Tiësto, Swedish House Mafia’s Axwell and Hardwell, Diplo, Steve Aoki, Datsik, Nadastrom, A-Trak, Rusko, and Benga. Where to finish? With a Monday in bed.
