Visual artist Jacob Ciocci isn’t a stranger to chaos. In fact, it’s what his work thrives on. The Pittsburgh native and co-founder of paper rad—the art collective that also consists of Jessica Ciocci and Ben Jones—specializes in everything nutty, from artworks to cartoons to videos to live performances. Tonight, see Ciocci and his metalhead partner in crime, David Wightman, in 2 Blessed 2B Blessed: An Evening with David and Jacob, an art duo like no other; their bizarre live art shows often turn into dance parties, sometimes involving blankets and hugs, but always lots of noise. Ciocci will present a new 20-minute mix of videos and animations and his new video/dance piece “I Let My Nightmares Go,” which expresses how he copes with “mental demons, Web 2.0, G.O.D., 21st-century breakdown, real lies and fake truths, cartoon violence, and awareness bracelets.” The evening also includes a musical performance titled “Fortress of Amplitude” by Wightman—he’ll be the one dressed like Obi-Wan Kenobi.
