It’s no wonder that Spoon frontman Britt Daniel signed on to produce the follow-up to Brooklyn sextet White Rabbits’ 2007 breakout debut. A perpetual piano plunk follows the aggressive tropicalia of songs such as “Percussion Gun” and “Company I Keep,” while singer Stephen Patterson keeps his voice on low vibrate to the betterment of the band’s snarling lyricism. The buzzword that follows is “polyrhythms”—White Rabbits boast upwards of two percussionists to Stomp the Yard effect, meaning the chances of spilling your beer during one of their more raucous offerings (see their May Letterman appearance) are high. Bonus: best acoustics in the city. With Glass Ghost and Caveman.
