It’s in the Bag

by

A spring bag should be versatile, adequately fun, and because we live in New York, roomy enough to accommodate a small home office. We suggest Mia Berglund’s canvas-lined carryalls made with sumptuous Indian textiles the Flying A owner cuts into a basic grocery-bag shape. While the breezy striped-linen version might make a smoother transition from spring to summer, we’re fonder of the metallic gold and silver totes constructed from furniture fabric. They’re ideal for dressing up a pair of jeans yet casual enough to wear with, well, jeans—sounds like a silly contradiction, but we’ll be damned if that’s not what we look for.
