So, the ShamWow guy might be kind of a creep. Allegedly. Jennifer Kosinski, a 23-year-old model who worked as the ShamWow guy’s assistant (the ShamWow guy is named Vince Shlomi, for the record, and he’s also the Slap Chop guy) is charging him with all sorts of bad behavior, including stalking, insensitive comments about a relative, offering to buy her eggs and to pay her to sleep in bed with him, and name-calling. The ShamWow guy has met with trouble before, including a violent confrontation with a hooker who apparently bit his tongue (who he then punched repeatedly) in 2009. Ladies: The ShamWow guy may not be the kind of guy you want to work for.
ShamWow, however, is an incredibly absorbant sponge-thing that will change your life, the purchase of which you will also get a free mop. Slap Chop will help you mush up all your food and “slap your troubles away.” Both of these products should not be tainted by the alleged behaviors of the ShamWow guy, though if you bought them in the first place, you deserve everything you’ve gotten.
Back to our lawsuit. Kosinski was fired after 9 months by Shlomi, because, she says, she refused to show him a text he thought was from a guy. Her suit, according to The Smoking Gun, is seeking unpaid wages in an unspecified amount and “accuses Shlomi of civil battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.”
Kosinski also charges that Shlomi stalked her ex-boyfriend, used binoculars to watch her while she was on a Florida beach, and, when she sought to visit a relative stricken with cancer, he told her, “Why don’t you just see him when he’s in the grave.”
The relationship seems complicated, as Kosinski was living in Shlomi’s South Beach apartment for free while acting as his personal assistant, and was paid $4,500 a month for cleaning, shopping, cooking, handling customer service responsibilities, and going to dinners, parties, and events with him, where she apparently acted as a chaperone of sorts. But Shlomi wanted wanted more, offering her “$20,000 and a paid one month vacation for her parents to travel the world in exchange for her eggs,” she says.
Then it got especially weird:
When Kosinski rebuffed Shlomi’s advances, he allegedly called her a “bitch” and a “cunt,” specifically because she “would not tell him the ‘secret formula’ that he claims existed for her to like him in a romantic manner.”
Shlomi’s lawyer Joe Shull had no comment for The Smoking Gun. In related cocktail party banter, the ShamWow guy once sued the Church of Scientology.
