They might not be the best or the coolest or the newest, but instead represent the things and places that are near and dear to our hearts. “For a special occasion, I still go for Peter Luger. Especially if it’s with someone who’s never been. All the ‘Peter Luger is not as good as it used to be’ talk is bullshit. That’s like people complaining about The Simpsons. It’s still better than most crap on TV. And Luger’s is about the overall experience: the gruff waiters, the celeb sightings … and the steak’s still pretty effing good, too.” –Chantal Martineau
