Coffee Clozers: The Startup Helping Americans Take Back Single-Family Homes from Corporate Giants

Year after year, the real estate market continues to be dominated by corporate entities. This often works directly against the best interests of ordinary Americans by making it harder than ever for them to seek out investment opportunities within the world of real estate.

Read on to find out how Coffee Clozers are taking action to restore access to single-family homes on behalf of ordinary Americans.

The Challenge for Everyday Americans: Investing In Real Estate Investments

Real estate investments and purchases for everyday Americans are often limited

due to the actions of corporate giants, such as Blackstone, who routinely buy up single-family homes at sale. For example, Blackstone spent over $22 billion on real estate acquisitions in the first 9 months of 2024 alone – effectively reducing the availability of affordable housing while doing so.

This has led to what many are dubbing the home-ownership crisis, which has only been worsened by sky-high interest rates and increasingly restrictive financing options. As such, it is hardly surprising that a report from CBS argued that “for the average American, homes are ‘unaffordable’ in 99% of the nation.”

The more control corporate entities have over the real estate industry, the harder it will be for the average American to invest in or own properties. This is because they can quickly take advantage of investment opportunities while increasing rental charges quite considerably, widening the wealth gap.

This serves as a considerable barrier for many of those who are trying to live the American Dream. After all, struggling to find financial stability means that they spend less time doing what they love, such as hanging out with their friends and family or engaging in their hobbies. This could be improved upon if they were given the chance to invest in real estate.

Coffee Clozers: The Startup Helping Americans Invest

Coffee Clozers is a startup whose sole purpose is to help ordinary Americans reach financial freedom through real estate investing.

There are many ways in which they hope to achieve this goal, starting by making it as easy as possible for investors to scope out opportunities within the real estate market. This is achieved through the use of a proprietary AI algorithm on their site, which broadens the range of viable property options based on specific criteria. It can be used to identify properties that could likely work with “creative finance” so that investors can avoid high interest rates and ensure that their mortgage payments do not exceed the rent they charge tenants.

Coffee Clozers also help ordinary Americans step confidently into the world of real estate investment by giving them access to free resources and tools to make smart, profitable decisions. They also plan to launch a free real estate mentorship programme in the future, which will once again help participants build wealth.

Meet the Team Behind Coffee Clozers

Coffee Clozers was founded in 2020 by ordinary, hard-working Americans who were concerned about the increasing inaccessibility of the housing market and wanted to do something about it.

Liam Maher (CEO).

Liam Maher has worked exclusively in startups since graduating from University. In 2020, he had a conversation with a real estate investor who had grown frustrated with the lack of viable tools for those looking to make their mark in the real estate market. His interest was piqued, and he quickly realised that there was a dire need for this kind of PropTech (the IT tools used to help individuals research, buy and sell properties).

Here, the idea behind Coffee Clozers was formed. However, it would take some time before it became the business it is today, facing numerous setbacks, including the loss of two initial co-founders. Fortunately, they were replaced by an expert team, Ariel Herrera and Madalyn V. Pape.

Ariel Herrera (Co-Founder).

Ariel is a data scientist and experienced real estate investor. She also runs a successful YouTube Channel, “Tech in Real Estate.” Here, she shares tips and tricks on investing while exploring how PropTech can be leveraged for good in the real estate market with her 13,000+ followers.

Madalyn V. Pape (Co-Founder). Madalyn works as the team’s Chief aesthetic officer due to her background in UX/UI design. Her work is around ensuring that the platform remains as accessible as possible, whether it is being used by experienced or first-time investors.

Together, Liam, Ariel, and Madalyn have worked diligently to turn Coffee Clozers from a great idea into the successful business it is today. So far, they have helped over 2,000 investors take a step in the right direction regarding achieving financial freedom. This is because property investing can help individuals build generational wealth.

They have also received considerable industry backing and support, having been accepted into Jason Calacanis’s LAUNCH Accelerator platform – a programme with an acceptance rate of just 2%.

Looking to the Future – Coffee Clozers ’ Mission

The current state of the real estate market in the US is troubling.

This is because the average investor is in direct ‘competition’ with the corporations that are currently dominating the housing market. Unlike these large entities, the average American must also contend with high interest rates and restrictive financing options, further limiting their options and making it harder for them to reach financial freedom.

Coffee Clozers’ mission (to help ordinary Americans find financial freedom through real estate) means that they are committed to turning things around in this regard. This is achieved by making it easier for buyers to find suitable investment opportunities that allow for creative financing and by sharing valuable tools and resources.

By working to make real estate investment more accessible, Coffee Clozers hope to give ordinary Americans the freedom they need to spend their free time doing what they love, as opposed to worrying about money.
