The most glamorous and classiest of women, including Jacqueline Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, Joan Crawford, and Marlene Dietrich, have all walked in Delmans, the oldest American salon footwear brand now celebrating its 90th anniversary. Scandal Sandals & Lady Slippers: A History of Delman Shoes at the Fashion Institute exhibits an extensive collection of Delman shoes, chronicling the company’s trends—roughly between 1926 and 2007—as well as their style, advertising, and craftsmanship.
