Who hasn’t gotten fed up with their 9-5 job? Most of us have threatened to quit and start an OnlyFans account, but Alix Lynx actually did it.
The 35-year-old Australian was making over $80,000 at her corporate job, but she felt restless and frustrated by the limitations of the office job.
Speaking to a reporter, she said: “The worst part is having to be at the exact same place at the same exact time every single day. It was like Groundhog Day.”
She shared that sitting at her desk, staring at a computer screen all day left her feeling unfulfilled: “The work was monotonous and boring. I felt like I was on somebody else’s time and making someone else’s money,” she said.
Not to mention that she felt like her boss at that social media job never supported her ideas. She said, “I hate being told what to do when it is coming from someone who I know doesn’t know as much as I do about a certain thing. I didn’t like having to smile and nod and say ‘yes’, when inside I felt like I had other ideas and we could have done certain things better.”
Lynx seems to have had some pretty good ideas when it comes to social media, as she has grown her Instagram account to more than 2 million followers — and now, she’s turned that skill to OnlyFans.
But don’t think that leaving behind the corporate world means that Lynx isn’t working. While some may picture OnlyFans models spending their days lounging in luxurious beds wearing nothing but lacy little underthings, the truth is that many OnlyFans creators work just as hard as they did at their old jobs. Maybe even harder, according to Lynx.
“It is so much harder,” she said of her OnlyFans career compared to her previous 9-5 job. But it’s worth it to Lynx.
“The difference is that it is something that I love to do. So it really does not feel like work, but don’t get me wrong, it is harder because I have to think on my feet all the time.”
That’s because everything falls to her now. And running a successful OnlyFans account is so much more than just creating the content. Lynx revealed how things work for her behind the scenes.
“As a business owner, I’m wearing a bunch of hats. I’m overseeing everything, I’m contacting my publicist, I’ve got graphic design meetings, I’m working on branding stuff.”
She continued: “I’m chatting with other creators, planning out scenes, figuring out what kind of scenes we want to shoot, co-ordinating schedules, planning social media content, when we’re posting, what we’re posting. I’m constantly steering my brand and my business in the direction I want it to go.”
So even though Lynx is working even longer days than she used to (no more stopping at 5pm sharp), she feels that the trade off is more than worth it.
“Every day is a brand new day and I don’t always know what’s going to happen. But that’s what makes it exciting,” she gushed.
