Don’t have any dysfunctional family to spend the holiday with? Why not adopt the oddballs of the Coen Brothers’ 1998 cult hit The Big Lebowski for a night at this special midnight screening? If you’ve never seen it, you’re long overdue to experience why there’s an entire festival devoted to this truly unusual comedy every year. The story concerns a SoCal stoner who refers to himself as The Dude (played with perfect slackertude by Jeff Bridges), who innocently gets involved with a crime ring when the bad guys mistake him for someone else. The film also stars John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, and John Turturro as Jesus Quintana, the Dude’s fiercest bowling rival. What more could you ask for?
