New Jersey will get a waterfront eating option this summer when Maritime Parc opens in June at Liberty Landing Marina in Liberty State Park.
The restaurant and event space spans 30,000 square feet and is being designed by Stephanie Goto, who also worked on Aldea and Corton. The restaurant will focus on seafood dishes — like roasted mussels with chorizo and fennel, and a traditional French bourride — as well as Pat la Frieda burgers and steaks. Chris Siversen, formerly of the Glazier Group, is part owner and chef.
New Yorkers can ferry it over from Wall Street, and on a nice summer day, we can see the appeal — skyline and Statue of Liberty view, etc. On the other hand, the space will be extremely large, and it’s hard to avoid a corporate feel with such a gigantic complex. The place will probably rely more on event business than good eaters trekking over from the city.
