Floyd Cardoz, formerly the executive chef at now-shuttered Tabla, is back in action and will helm the kitchen at Danny Meyer’s newest fine-dining restaurant, called North End Grill, which will open in Battery Park City toward the end of 2011. Per a release, “North End Grill will be a new American eatery and bar featuring refined grill cooking with an emphasis on seafood. The restaurant will be located at the northwest corner of North End Avenue and Murray Street.”
And the neighborhood is getting even more Danny Meyer-ified: North End Grill will be joined by new outposts of Blue Smoke and Shake Shack, which will also anchor the development on North End Avenue in Battery Park City. Meanwhile, Union Square Events (USHG’s catering and events company) will be the caterer for the new Conrad New York hotel, slated to open in late 2011, and will promote a “roof-to-table” concept. Take that, all who said Lower Manhattan was restaurant Siberia.
