Have you ever been ice fishing with Willem Dafoe? Traveled to Jamaica with Tom Waits? Searched for the elusive giant squid with Dennis Hopper? No? That’s OK because John Lurie, the actor, director, and jazz musician (who’s best known for his roles in three Jim Jarmusch films), has done all of that and more. And tonight you can live vicariously through him when Nitehawk Cinema presents Lurie in person to discuss his short-lived television series, Fishing With John, which aired on Bravo and IFC in 1991 and documented these bizarre escapades. Catch a rare screening of these episodes that made the show a cult hit and enjoy a conversation moderated by Devon E. Levins, host of the East Village Radio program Morricone Youth.
