Michael Dorf’s Music of David Bowie tribute at Carnegie Hall had some disappointments — he told the audience that Patti Smith was ill and couldn’t make it and the Roots backed out — but overall the show was a huge success. Michael Stipe, Debbie Harry, Cyndi Lauper, and many more paid tribute to the late, great David Bowie with performances from his vastly influential catalog. The night ended with an audience and performer sing-along of “Space Oddity.” Many of the same performers will be doing it all over again tonight at Radio City. If you couldn’t get a ticket to the sold-out affair, the show will be live-streamed on Skype.
