Tour the Union Square Greenmarket with chef Peter Hoffman and learn all about the community of farmers and producers who have kept the market running since 1976. The behind-the-scenes access allows guests to meet select members of the Greenmarket community and discover the ways farmers and chefs work together to create restaurant menus. The Coalition for Healthy School Food is hosting an afternoon of sushi making for families. Focusing on Japanese-inspired recipes, parents and children will follow an instructor and learn to prepare select recipes, with each child creating their own sushi roll. Winemaker Night with Xurxo Alba of Bodegas Albamar

Winemaker Xurxo Alba, of Spain’s Rías Baixas, will lead guests through a tasting of his Galicia winery’s signature mineral wines. The bottle selection includes Albamar Albariño and single-parcel Finca O Pereiro. Dishes from chefs Jonathan Wu and John Wells, including specials like a taro tortilla española and wok-fired squid with morcilla, will be available à la carte. Guests must make a reservation in advance by contacting Fung Tu.

Join culinary historian and chocolate expert Alexandra Leaf for a sweet tasting of locally and nationally made chocolate. The selection features Red Hook’s Raaka Chocolate and Nolita’s Stick with Me, along with chocolate and cheese pairings from Lucy’s Whey. Wine samples and and scoops from an old-fashioned ice cream cart will also be available.
