Sleigh Bells Have Sold 12,000 Copies of Treats So Far

by

No idea how to read the number, but there it is: in the midst of the worst sales week in SoundScan history and an unlikely bow by the National at #3 overall, local demolition duo Sleigh Bells sold more than 12,000 copies of their (digital-only, pending a June 1 physical release) debut, Treats. It was the third most downloaded record in the country, and #39 on the Billboard Hot 200. Whether that certifies them as a solely provincial, internet-based phenomenon, or the complete opposite, we’re not really sure, but there you have it. [Pop & Hiss/LAT]
