Welcome to The Best Thing I Ate Yesterday, where we endeavor to remember the very best thing we stuffed down our gullets over the past 24 hours. Why? Because the only thing better than enjoying a meal is wallowing in the memory of one savored in the recent past.
Today’s fond reminiscences …
Lauren Shockey: Mono+Mono spicy fried chicken at Mono+Mono (116 East 4th Street, 212-466-6660).
Robert Sietsema: A tortured tourtière made at home with leftover brisket, beef rib, and suckling pig meat with a multi-mustard and cornichon gravy.
Victoria Bekiempis: Manhattan clam chowder, from Holland Court Meat Market (1423 Lexington Avenue, 212-289-8490).
Chantal Martineau: Sausage and pepper stromboli, made at home from scratch (dough, too!).
Rebecca Marx: A salty oatmeal cookie with the Bent Spoon‘s sweet potato-bourbon-caramel ice cream.
