The Dutch from TheDutchNYC on Vimeo.
The folks at the Dutch are one crafty lot: Only days after the first breathlessly snapped photos of the restaurant’s awning began to sprout across the blogosphere, they’ve sent along a little video designed to further bait onlookers to the point of babbling insanity. Posted to the Dutch’s website, the video features a series of rapidly cross-cut still photos of New York life — subways, street signs, chrome diners — and the odd plate of delicious-looking food, all presented against a soundtrack of grinding guitars. It seems likely that in the not-too-distant future, viewers will be able to feast upon oysters, lobsters, fried chicken, steak cooked to a blushing pink, and very pretty fruit pies. Until then, you can eke out further crumbs of information on Andrew Carmellini’s website, and prepare yourself for the media’s imminent bum rush.
