Exactly two-thirds of the current releases recommended below (and 80 percent of the ones containing new rather than old music) come from women who rock. But only a couple come from women usually thought of as “rock”—and not the one with the AC/DC cover, the one with the Def Leppard and Lee Dorsey/Devo covers, or the one with the song that sounds almost exactly like Billy Squier’s “Everybody Wants You.” Go figure.
