Forgotten Conflict in Uganda

photo by Jehad Nga; click to enlarge

A shift from conflicts with plenty of press coverage (good and bad) to a disaster that gets no attention. I’m posting this informative introduction to the rebellion in Northern Uganda/Southern Sudan, from Reuters invaluable AlertNet. The picture is taken by friend Jehad Nga, a Corbis photographer, who was in Northern Uganda last year. More conversation with Jehad on what he saw there to come. This picture is of the “Arrow Boys,” a vigilante group that formed to fight the Lord’s Resistance Army. As you can see, the problem of recruiting child soldiers is widespread.
