Contrary to popular belief, the clubbing community isn’t always materialistic and shallow. To prove they care, some hip-hop talents are uniting for Relief and Recovery, a benefit to raise aid for the tsunami victims. Ticket sales from the show, headlined by Remy Ma, the singer featured on “Lean Back,” and M.O.P., all will go to the American Red Cross, as well as funds from the bar and raffle tix. Also performing: Petelshot, Nervous System, SUM, and DJ Eleven, among many others. Have a swank and thoughtful night out! It only costs $15, you cheap bastards. Those of us who like geeky techno have a ton of options this week, with the new party Dance Idiot Dance bringing DJ Kaos to downtown’s Music Gallery and coaxing Berliner Daniel Wang to grace us with his funky presence. Kaos’s newest CD, Hello Stranger, bounces from bumping, accessible house to smooth, bass-heavy electro, laden with Italo disco’s pulsating urgency. Friday @ 10, Music Gallery, 49 Ann, no phone

At the Bunker, go über-minimal with a live p.a. from Robert Henke, better known under his Monolake moniker. The Munich-born, Berlin-based producer makes austere landscapes that are more meant for the head than the derriere. That’s OK; techno nerds aren’t prone to dancing all that much, anyway. Thursday @ midnight, Tonic, 107 Norfolk, 212.358.7501

Thank g-d for the geeks at Other Music, who’ve had the good sense to bring Isolée to town. The Playhouse recording artist made one of my favorite singles ever, “Bon Mot Plage,” a disco-y, dreamy romp through a tech house wonderland that is so sublime I am not sure he can ever match it. But I’ll have fun listening to him try.
