Sara Vilkomerson Out at New York Observer

We’ve just received unconfirmed word that New York Observer culture editor Sara Vilkomerson — a longtime staffer at the paper — is out.

This comes a little over a week after the Observer‘s star media reporter John Koblin gave the pink paper notice that he’d be leaving to go work with former longtime Observer chief Peter Kaplan at Women’s Wear Daily. No word on where Vilkomerson is heading, but her absence will be felt: she was the Observer staffer picked to run Very Short List after the paper acquired it from IAC last summer, in addition to her previous responsibilities.
